Codistar NF Cough Syrup

• Codistar-NF Cough Syrup is used in the treatment of dry cough

If you experience any persistent or severe side effects, consult your doctor immediately.

• Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Codistar-NF Cough Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

• Codistar-NF Cough Syrup is a combination of two medicines: Codeine and Triprolidine, which relieves dry cough. Codeine is a cough suppressant. It suppresses cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain. Triprolidine is an antiallergic. It blocks the action of a chemical messenger (histamine) which may trigger cough due to allergy.

  Alcohol:

  Codistar-NF Cough Syrup may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.

  Driving:

  Codistar-NF Cough Syrup may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.

• 
  Kidney:

  Codistar-NF Cough Syrup is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Codistar-NF Cough Syrup may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

• 
  Liver:

  Codistar-NF Cough Syrup is probably unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided. Please consult your doctor.

• 
  Pregnancy:

  Codistar-NF Cough Syrup may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

  Breastfeeding:

  Codistar-NF Cough Syrup is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.Larger doses or prolonged use of Codistar-NF Cough Syrup may cause sleepiness and other effects in the baby
